Rico Lewis explains why he didn’t consider leaving Man City on loan last summer.
Lewis has started for Man City in their first three Premier League games of 2024/25. He provide one assist in their last league game, a 3-1 win at West Ham.
After breaking into the first-team and helping City win the Treble in 2022/23, Rico Lewis once again broke new ground last season.
Such was the exciting potential and mature displays showcased by the 19-year-old en route to the as Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup triumphs, Pep Guardiola reflected his faith in our starlet before the start of the new term.
Lewis signed a five-year contract extension at the Etihad Stadium in August 2023 which not only rewarded him for his meteoric progress, but also secured City the future of one of English football’s most exciting talents.
Manchester City right-back Rico Lewis has revealed he has no intention of leaving the club on loan during the summer transfer window.
“I never thought about moving anywhere. I train with the best players in the world and the best managers in the world every day and it’s almost impossible not to learn things,” Lewis
“Obviously playing is important and that’s what people will see about you, but I don’t think there’s a better place to develop than Manchester City.”
Lewis is currently training with the England squad for the Nations League, League B against Ireland (away) and Finland (home) on September 7 and 10 respectively.
